Roster move this morning, as the pre-season concludes with a back-to-back, home-and-home beginning tonight in West Kelowna.

The Silverbacks wrap up the BCHL’s pre-season this weekend with games tonight and tomorrow night against the West Kelowna Warriors. The Warriors are 1-2-0-1 in exhibition play after a 5-3 victory at home over Penticton on Saturday. The Silverbacks improved to 3-1 in the pre-season with an 8-5 win vs. Prince George in 100 Mile House on Tuesday.


Second year forward Connor Brown-Maloski of Kamloops, BC was released this morning, leaving the Silverbacks with 25 players (15 F, 8 D & 2 G) remaining in Salmon Arm.

Brown-Maloski came to the Silverbacks in 2012-13 from Junior ‘B’ where he was with the Beaver Valley Nitehawks in the KIJHL. The 18-year-old scored 3 goals and 4 assists with 16 penalty minutes in 46 games last season, in his first full season with the Silverbacks.

Silverbacks assistant coach Misko Antisin was an assistant coach with the West Kelowna Warriors in 08-09 and still lives in the Kelowna area. With now 25 players remaining on the roster everyone involved knows what is at stake going into the final weekend of pre-season action.

Tonight’s game begins at 7p.m. in West Kelowna, as well as tomorrow night’s game is a 7p.m. start at the Shaw Centre in Salmon Arm. Both games will be webcast via as well as Our broadcast will begin at 6:45p.m. both tonight/Friday and tomorrow/Saturday.
