Silverbacks drop home opener.

The Silverbacks (2-1) hosted the Merritt Centennials (2-1) on Friday night, in the Backs 2014-15 regular season home opener at the Shaw Centre in Salmon Arm. Each team was playing their first of back-to-back games, as the Centennials open their season at home to Penticton Saturday night in Merritt and the Silverbacks travel to Trail on Saturday.

Assistant coach Misko Antisin joined us post-game.

The Silverbacks were leading 2-1 in the second period, with Phil Middleton off for slashing as Jack Berezan and Colton Thibault had a short-handed, 2-on-1 opportunity but they just missed. The Centennials later scored on that same man-advantage and tied the game at 2. Berezan with his thought’s on losing the home opener.

The Silverbacks will travel to Trail on Saturday, to take on the Smoke Eaters (2-1) at 7:30p.m. at the Cominco Arena.
