Backs go for their first ‘W’ vs. the Vees Sunday at the Shaw Centre.


Silverbacks rookie Carl El-Mir scored his first BCHL goal in his 13th game on Friday night at home versus the Trail Smoke Eaters. The 18-year-old from Montreal, Quebec had multiple chances on Friday and is relieved to finally have found the back of the net. El-Mir adds that the division leading Penticton Vees record isn’t in their heads.

20-year-old Shane Danyluk of Salmon Arm says that hosting the Vees is extra incentive, as Penticton won 4-3 in double overtime at the Shaw Centre on Saturday, October 4th after beating the Backs 5-1 in the season series opener on Friday, October 3rd in Penticton.
