The Silverbacks and Cowichan Valley Capitals meet for the second time is an many weeks tonight at 7 p.m. in Duncan as the ‘Backs continue their three games in four days road trip. The Silverbacks won 5-2 at home over the Capitals this past Friday, November 14th at the Shaw Centre in Salmon Arm.
The Capitals lost 3-2 at home to the Trail Smoke Eaters last night, as Cowichan Valley never lead in the game and tied the score twice in the first period. The Capitals gave up the eventual game winner in the second period, a short-handed goal as the Smoke Eaters out-shot the home team 39-32.

The ‘Backs are now 1-1-0-1 versus the Island Division this season and are 8-8-2-5 overall with 23 points in 23 games. The Capitals are 4-18-0-1 with 9 points in their 23 games.
Josh Blanchard opened the scoring against Cowichan Valley last Friday at the Shaw Centre in Salmon Arm on a short-handed penalty-shot. As well as, Colton Thibault and Logan Mick gave the ‘Backs a three nothing lead after 20 minutes. The visitors replied in the middle period with goals from Kyle Horsman, as well as Adam Osczevski on the power-play cutting the home team’s lead to one after two periods. But Blanchard’s second of the game and Carson Bolduc into the empty net in the third put the game away.
The Silverbacks conclude their weekend road trip tomorrow afternoon at 5 p.m. in the Fraser Valley versus the Chilliwack Chiefs.
