Pre-season play.

The Silverbacks are back in pre-season action tonight, as they host the West Kelowna Warriors in the first of an exhibition home and home set. 

Tonight’s game will begin at 7p.m. at the Shaw Centre in Salmon Arm, before the ‘Backs travel to West Kelowna tomorrow for a 7p.m. face-off with the Warriors as the BCHL concludes exhibition play.
The ‘Backs come into tonight after this week of practice with 15 forwards, 8 defensemen and 3 goaltenders. 

The Silverbacks opened the pre-season on Wednesday, August 26th and lost 5-2 to the Langley Rivermen at the Shaw Centre. The ‘Backs iced a lineup without a returnee or veteran, ahead of a home and home set with the Vernon Vipers. The ‘Backs went with nine returnees last Friday at at home to the Vipers and had six different goal scorers, in a 6-1 win at the Shaw Centre. 
The two teams needed OT last Saturday in Vernon as the Vipers erased a 2-0 Silverbacks lead in the third period and went ahead 3-2. But Nick Hutchison tied the score late, and the 20-year-old of Hicksville, New York then potted the winner early into 4-on-4 OT.
The Warriors come into the Shaw Centre after losing 4-3 to the Vees this past Wednesday in Penticton. 
West Kelowna has one pre-season win in four games, 3-2 in OT at home last week over the Trail Smoke Eaters. The Warriors have dropped a 3-2 decision at home to the Vees, and lost 9-7 to the Smoke Eaters in Trail one week ago tonight.
Tonight’s game will be broadcast live PPV at as well as free play-by-play audio at

Tomorrow (Saturday) at West Kelowna will also be broadcast both PPV and free audio only.
The Silverbacks open the 2015-16 regular season one week from tonight Friday, September 11th at 7p.m. versus the Penticton Vees at the Shaw Centre in Salmon Arm.
